We cater to all of our veterans, with accessibility for all in mind. The lodge is handicap-accessible on the main level, including a walk-in shower. We have been providing outdoor adventures to our veterans and their families since 2008. We are not supported by the government or any subsidy program. Our nonprofit organization is funded by people who believe in our motto; “Veterans Helping Veterans.” The small fee helps cover our operating expenses and allows us to help more veterans and their families reconnect.
English River Outfitters (ERO) sits on 32 acres and has an abundance of wildlife; deer, turkey, ducks, geese, squirrels, coyote, raccoons…we do not provide a canned hunt. All wildlife is free range giving that sportsman a challenge. It is an excellent opportunity for both sportsman or photographer with over 213 acres of park to explore, giving you a total of over 240 acres. Fishing is just a short distance to Marr Park.

Animals such as deer, pheasant, squirrels, and a host of birds utilize Marr Park’s excellent mixture of native grasses, pine and hardwood groves, crops, and water (ponds and wetlands). Quiet visitors find this refuge an outst
anding wildlife observation area.
Fishing is especially popular in the park’s two man-made ponds. Both the smaller 1.2-acre north pond and the 5.7-acre south mini-lake provide opportunity to catch bluegill, largemouth bass, and channel catfish.
Sokum Ridge Park surrounds ERO to the North and to the West giving you access to 213 acres of trails to hike. Sockum Ridge is 213 acres of actively managed woodland. This multi-use area offers much for the nature lover and outdoor recreationist. Hikers, bikers, and horseback riders all frequent the Ridge. During the appropriate seasons, hunters can try their luck for deer, squirrel, or turkey. With adequate snowfall, cross-country skiers can enjoy the winter wonders of this woodlands.
